I'm not sure where it went, but it must have gone on Spring break or something, because we've had more snow & rain than sunshine for a week or so. Boo!
Over the past couple of months, I've been working on some more projects to donate to the Capron Rescue Squad's Explorers' program bowling fundraiser on April 23rd. The Explorers' program is a fantastic partnership between the Squad and local teens, teaching them the basics of EMS. They have learned a wide variety of things and I'm absolutely happy to help them out with their fundraiser, so they can do more activities.

The middle image of the softie is my single happiest squee moment of the year so far - it's my first design completely of my own making. I couldn't be more excited, honestly. I plan on tweaking it a little more and posting it for sale eventually.
I also had the pleasure to crochet my first baby blanket for my DH's great grand niece. She arrived with a shock of hair and we all said, YUP! She's part of the family!
I know it's a lot of crochet, which is not my first love, but it's far easier and quicker than knitting, when producing a final project is my goal (along with using up a lot of my stash). My current stash is spreading quickly throughout the house and DH is starting to side-eye me a lot!!
Below are a few projects I've been toodling about with since the first of the year:
1. Spiral Cowl - Eat.Sleep.Knit's first KAL of the year. Yarn is MadTosh Pashmina Worsted in Astrid Grey.
2. Starfighter Hat - second KAL of the year. Yarn is Malabrigo Mecha in Lotus.
3. Avery Chunky hat - a quick knit. Yarn is Malabrigo Chunky in Jacinto.
4. Dragontail Neckerchief - I took a few liberties with this pattern, which is fairly freeform anyways. I loved it, but it's not exactly a wearable piece. Yarn is MadTosh Unicorn tails - Bonfire bundle.
5. "Sparkly" Half-Granny shawl - It's shiny more than sparkly but I love it! Yarn is Malabrigo Silky Merino in Ankara Green and Sabiduria.
6. Half-Moon Shawl #2 - Third, well, fourth, really, KAL of the year. This is a single color version of the shawl I posted previously. Yarn is Handmaiden Lady Godiva in Amethyst. As a note, this was such a pleasure to work with, so soft and squishy, I almost regret blocking it as aggressively as I did, since it lost a lot of that squish factor.

Then it got HOT. Like overnight.
In May, we had more crazy than usual, with DH's daughter's 18th birthday, graduation, and graduation parties. Then a conference down state. We actually ended up spending more time traveling than at home. My knitting suffered somewhat, but I managed to start a second Age of Brass shawl, a Robin Hood hat, and two pairs of socks.

Also in May, Eat.Sleep.Knit hosted a team scavenger hunt for everyone and it was a BLAST. I was able to score photos for the "on a boat", "with your Mayor" and "on Route 66".
