I decided that in 2016, I am not going to set any ridiculous resolutions that won't last past mid-January.
I also decided that I'm going to simplify life this year, focus on being happy and on things that make me happy - like creating things with my hands. I am not only doing the Documented Life Project again this year, but also focusing on actually enjoying Eat.Sleep.Knit's 2016 Yarnathon (yay, Starsheep!!)
It also happens to be my birthday today, so I've made the point to be extra nice to myself. Last year was a year of extremes, ups and downs worse than a roller coaster, and I don't exactly like how I've been reacting to situations of late. Heaven knows it's hard enough to deal with negativity on a good day; going back on medications for depression made the entire situation worse and I've basically become a great ball of Negative-Nelly-ness.
So this year is all about the happy and challenging myself to new and fun things - but one at a time, so I can focus on the experiences, relish the yarn/paint/paper under my fingers, and enjoy the simple process of being an artist again.
Here's a little hint of the process on my first Yarnathon project of the year:

It's a little sad gray cloud of yarn, which is kind of where I've been lately.
BUT! Wait, there's MORE!
